Due to the times and setbacks that women experience, I have decided to create this space together with LILITH PROJECT related to this project and in memory of LILITH FAIR.
Lilith Fair was a concert tour and travelling music festival, founded by Canadian musician Sarah McLachlan, Nettwerk Music Group‘s Dan Fraser and Terry McBride, and New York talent agent Marty Diamond. It took place during the summers of 1997 to 1999, and was revived in the summer of 2010. It consisted solely of female solo artists and female-led bands. In its initial three years, Lilith Fair raised over $10M for charity.
In 1996, Mclachlan became upset when he learned that two concert promoters refused to present two female singers in succession one after the other.
Rejecting machismo and the conveniences of the music industry, she and Paula Cole dedicated themselves to the creation of a musical festival. For the following year, Mclachlan founded the Lilith Fair festival, Lilith for the legend that Lilith was the first wife of Adam, and Fair as a mechanism to cultivate the image of beauty and fairness. Mclachlan programmed the festival after the Lollapalooza.
